The Spartans Experienced a big win against their cross town competitors from San Bernardino HS. The Day started out with a big win from Isi Ibarra in the girls 2 mile and the momentum kept the Spartans winning all day. The team looks good going into the second half of the season. Big additions to the team were Paul Walters winning both hurdle races and Brandyn Seafus wining the 100m and anchoring the winning 4x100m team of Dante Finney, Deondre Owens, Jamie Snowten and Brandyn Seafus. The girls 4x100 team of Patra Burns, Raeon Cooper, Nelly Stout and Miriam Rojas also had a big win.

Some of the outstanding Spartans were:

Isi Ibara: Won the 2 mile with a great 12:54, 2nd in the mile with 5:52, 2nd in the 400m with 1:04 and the third leg of the winning 4x400 team

Patra Burns won the 100m with a blazing 13.1, and won the 200 with a 27.6, took second in the High Jump and was the lead leg of the winning 4x100 team.

Ricky Zamorano won the 800m with a 2:10, took 3rd in the 400 with a 54.2 and was the 1st leg of the winning 4x400 team.

Cynthia Rivera won the mile with a 5:45, 2nd in the 800 with 2:36, and was the 3rd leg of the winning 4x400 team.

Paul Walters won the 110 hurdles with a fantastic 16.2 and the 300 hurdles with a 42.5

Deondre Owens won the 200 with a 23.5 and the 400 with a 53.2

Danielle Stout won the 100 hurdles with a 16.9 and the 300 hurdles with 46.4 as well as being on the winning 4x1 and 4x4 teams. 

Ryan Hunter-Simms won the shot with a 56'6" and discus with 180'3"

Underclassmen Julian Rodriguez and Malik Anderson helped Ryan sweep the Shot with their trows of 39' 6.5" for Julian and 37' 6" for Malik.

Mikal Berry won the triple jump and long jump and came in 2nd for the high jump.

Ryan Rittenhouse burned a 4:33 winning the mile and posted a 10:40 winning the 2 mile, and was the anchor of the winning 4x4 team.

Karina Varela won the 400 with a 1:03, won the 800 with a 2:35, took 3rd in the 200 and was the anchor of the 4x4 team.  

Raeon Cooper won the triple jump, high jump and was the 2nd leg of the winning 4x100 team.

Sam Wardlaw won the shot with a 28'7"
