The Spartans came out strong against their rivals from Cajon. In the last meeting of this storied rivalry the teams had a split decision. The Cajon girls proved to be a tough match and were able to squeak out a win while the Spartan boys bested their rivals and continue their quest for another repeat league championship. It was a very fun meet with both sides showing great sportsmanship and the fierce competition brought out the best times and marks showing why these teams are considered powerhouse track and field programs. 

Some of the outstanding Spartan performers:

Mikal Berry won the Triple Jump, High Jump and second place in the long jump winning himself MVP award for the meet and a Pizza from Coach K.

Pablo Torres Won the 800M with a 2:09 and second in the 2 mile. 

Tyler Giffis won the mile with a 4:57

Ryan Rittenhouse won the 2 mile with a 11:04

Nia Knox won the Shot with a 27'6" and the disc with a 91'9.5"

Isi Ibarra won the 2 mile with a 12:33, and finished second in the mile

The boys 4x400m team of Jamie Snowten, Deondre Owens, William Belvins and Ryan Rittenhouse won the last race of the day securing the victory for the Spartans

the girls 4x400m team also had a big win the girls were Nelly Stout, Isi Ibarra, Cynthia Rivera, and Karina Varela

Jamie Snowten won the 110h hurdles with a great 16.5 and finished 3rd in 100m

Deondre Owens and Marc Flores went 1,2 in the 200m 

Ryan Hunter-Simms won the shot with a 56' and the disc with a 192'5"
