Hall of Fame.
Welcome to the SGHS Athletic Hall of Fame!!!
Our Athletic Hall of Fame was founded in 1993 thanks to the vision of Principal Phil Haley and Athletic Director Larry Arnold, who got it started. As of Fall of 2016, we have inducted 90 outstanding Spartans (athletes, coaches, staff, and Spartan supporters).
Originally, members were inducted at a spring banquet dinner after being selected by the Hall of Fame Committee based upon their athletic merits in high school, college, professional and/or their contributions to our athletic programs as coaches, staff, and Spartan supporters. Typical qualities of our Hall of Famers include single and multi-sport athletes who earned all-league, league MVP, all-CIF, all-county, San G records, and/or college/professional accolades.
Currently, we induct our newest honorees in the fall during a SGHS Athletic Hall of Fame weekend beginning with a halftime ceremony at a Friday night home football game followed by a golf tournament and banquet on Saturday afternoon and evening at a local golf course.
The 2017 SGHS Athletic Hall of Fame will be September 22-23 at our home football game vs Oak Hills and then the golf tournament and banquet at Tukwet Canyon, Morongo Golf Club in Cherry Valley. The honorees being inducted into the Class of 2017 will be Sergio Remus (baseball, 1999), Juan Luna (wrestling, 1998), and Nichole Latham (softball, 2007).
