Our Spartans battled hard in our second game in the Oak Hills Tournament, after a rough loss in our first game, we came out ready to win.  Unfortunately we went down 0-1 early in the first half on a direct kick from about the 30 that sailed over the hands of goalkeeper Angele Villa.  But we kept our heads up and Cynthia Rivera finished a beautiful cross from Jiselle Torres late in the first half to tie the game 1-1.  Early in the second half, we got on the board again, when sophomore Roxanne Villarreal (aka Fresh) beat two defenders down the left side, and shot it hard at the net...the keeper couldn't control it and Roxy Gomez put it home to give us the lead.  Hesperia rebounded with another free kick from the 35 that found the net just beneath the crossbar, to tie it up 2-2.  Our Spartans dug deep and came back and scored off a big cross from the right side by Ruby Valadez, Roxanne Villarreal was crashing the net and scored to put us ahead 3-2.  With only about 5 minutes left in the game, senior, captain Roxy Gomez scored off a  pass from Roxanne Villarreal to seal the win.
