Edgar Duarte opened up the score and got the Spartans ahead early in the first half. Citrus Valley scored 3 goals in a 10 minute span to overtake the lead. Right before the half Ulises Lopez made it 2-3 to shift te momentum. The Spartans made their first comeback of the game and tied it 3-3 behind Omar Pinedas goal. However, Citrus Valley took the lead again, but the Spartans came back a second time and Abraham Martinez made it 4-4 for a final score. The Spartans showed good character and the ability to come back twice to open their 17-18 season.
