Wow!! Spartans took the Lions down. All 3 levels won this afternoon, great job swimmers!

JV won 96/32, with 13 personal best times. Paola Monterrosa was amazing today, she dropped time in all 3 events, 7 sec in her 200 Free, 3 sec in her 100 Free and an additional sec in her 4x100 Free Relay. My 500 Free girls each dropped time as well: Chloe Amaro 8 sec., Karina Corona 9 sec., and Norelle Dry dropped 22 seconds. Fantastic Job Ladies!

Varsity Boys won 89/79 and had 12 personal bests. Scorpio again had a fabulous afternoon bettering his 200 Free by 8 sec. and his 100 Free by 6 sec. Jovan Villa dropped 3 sec on his 200 Free and 2 more on his 100 Fly and a sec on his 50 Free. However, the one that shocked me was Isaac Cabrera who dropped 40 sec. on his 500 Free, wow!! The boys battled it back in forth throughout the afternoon and were down 9 points at the mid-way point (100 Free). They began to pull ahead with the 200 Free Relay, then a few more points in 100 Back by taking 2-3-4, and then 1-2-3 in 100 Breast, making it impossible for Carter to win despite their efforts in the 400 Free Relay. 

Varsity Girls also scored a hard earned victory today, 89/81 with 5 personal best times. The girls are consistently swimming their times and Coach strategically placed them today for a win.  The varsity girls were battling back and forth throughout the afternoon against the Lions. It came down to the last relay where if Carter scored 1-2, we would have tied, so taking 3rd or lower wasn't an option, we had to get 1st or 2nd in order to get enough points to win, we came in 2-3. Zahra Celis dropped 5 sec. off her 100 Free in a much needed race (4x100), as well as Courtney O'Grady another teammate in the 4x100 dropping a sec., the other two girls matched their personal bests to score 2nd place. Great job ladies!!

Our next swim meet with be away at Arroyo Valley on Tuesday, 4/17 @ 3:15.
