Football Parent Meeting on Tuesday November 7, 2017 at 6:00pm in the MU Room behind the cafeteria.  Come meet with school administration to discuss how to continue moving forward with the growth of our Spartan Football program, who just won our fifth consecutive SAL title.

Truly excited to see what our new Spartan Head Football Coach Rich McClure can do with our football program!  Coach McClure was our DC for two years in 2011 and 2012.  He is a great fit for our kids and he has a ton of knowledge and experience.  The plan is to continue to build upon our successful program and keep moving forward.  Welcome back Coach!

Varsity/Junior varsity football Dead period starts Monday June 5th and last through Sunday June 25th. Weightlifting will be offered Tuesday through Thursday each week from 4 pm until 6 pm. Our San G Spartans won the first CIF-SS Football Championship in school's history 27-21 in OT vs Norte Vista.  After getting down 13-21 with just over 3 minutes to play, the Spartans drove the length of the field to score a TD and 2pt conversion to tie the game with 1 minute left sending the game into OT.  In OT, the defense recovered a fumble to stop Norte Vista and then the Spartan offense punched in the game winning TD from two yards out to win the CIF-SS D-7 title!

Just a reminder that J.V. and Freshman are Playing on Wednesday this week.  The Varsity are at Home on Thursday at 7 pm.  There will be no practice on Friday but Practice will begin at 3:45 pm. on Monday the 9 th.  Go Spartans!

Nine week grades are reported by the end of next week.  This is a short note to parents and families that grades reported at this time will affect student eligibility for the remainder of the semester.  SGHS Football players have been given snapshots of their current standings.  Go Spartans!

Team Pictures for all three levels are at 4 pm on Wednesday in Phil Haley Stadium.  Players will check out uniforms during 6th and 7th period class.  Those that are not in the football classes will get them right after school.  Make sure you have money orders for individual pictures for all levels.  Go Spartans!

This week Cross country has a meet on campus and we will adjust our late practice day.  Tuesday the 19 th we will practice 4 to 6 pm and we will go with late practice on Wednesday the 20 th at 5 to 7 pm.  Thanks.  Go Spartans!

Labor Day weekend notice.  We will not have practice on Saturday Sept. 2 nd.  We will practice from 6-8 pm Monday evening to allow families to maximize their time together for the Holidays.  Please have your athletes at practice by 5:30 for pre practice prep and dressing.  Thanks.  Go Spartans!

Both JV and Freshman Games have been cancelled due to extreme weather.  The JV bus has been stopped and turned around and those players are available for pickup within the hour.  The freshman will not need to report today for their game.  We will alert for make ups as we know this information.  Go Spartans!

Again today we have extreme heat warnings and it will force us inside.  Freshman will practice in the gym from after school until 4 pm.  Varsity and JV will be in the same gym from 4 pm to 6 pm today.  There will be a change of game times for freshman and JV tomorrow as both will start at 5:30 pm to avoid the early heat.  Please check back for more information about tomorrows games.  Go Spartans!

Freshman football will have practice today from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm in the Spartan Gym west court.  Varsity will practice in the same gym area from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  Go Spartans!

Due to extreme temperatures this week practices will be starting later than previously stated.  Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, practice will start at 6 pm and finish at 8 pm.  Go Spartans!

Practice for Wednesday august 23 rd has been changed to 5-7 pm.  This change is due to open house on Tuesday night and the opportunity for our athletes to seek tutoring after school.  Go Spartans!

We have school wide parent open house on the SGHS campus from 5:30 pm to completion on Tuesday evening august 22 nd.  This will impact our normal practice time. Because of this we will start practice early at 3:30 pm and complete at 5:30 pm this Tuesday.  Go Spartans

Reminder for all families and athletes that the legacy Brunch will be held Saturday August 19 th in the mu room on SGHS campus.  This event is open to all of the Spartan football family 9-12 and will start at 10 am.  If you have an item to bring to share please bring it anytime after 9 am.  Go Spartans!

Parents aren't allow on the sidelines during any football game. Players aren't allow to come to fence during games to talk to anyone. If there's an emergency please refrain from talking to your kids until the game is over.
