San Gorgonio HS.  Today The San Gorgonio tennis team was on the brink of their first defeat of the season to have Junior Ryan Rittenhouse to beat Arroyo Valley's #1 singles 7-5 to lead the Spartans to a 80-79 win over the previously undefeated Hawks.  Ryan swept all three singles matches even avenging his Sal 3rd place loss to Arroyo's Robert Nguyen beating him 6-2. 

The Spartans jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first round only to see a surge from the Hawks in the second round and San G dropping some close matches to tie it 6-6 after the second round.  Matt Roberson and Hieu Huynh defeated the #3 doubles 6-2 while Tye Rush and Dat Le beat the Hawk's #2 and #3 despite several bad line calls 6-4 amd 6-1.  Senior Captian Ricardo Chavez won 2 singles matches 6-4, 6-1 and Senior Jacob Bates defeated their #2 and a lost a heartbreaker to their #1 after being up 4-1.

The Spartans are now 8-0 and 4-0 in the San Andreas league and are in the drivers seat for the SAL crown as they have defeated the top 2 teams Cajon and Arroyo.
