“In light of dramatically increasing COVID cases in our city as well as the Governor's recent stay-at-home order, we are temporarily suspending in person sports conditioning. While we were looking forward to moving through the phases of our Return to Athletics Plan, this decision is made with an abundance of caution in order to keep our students, our team members and their families safe. We will revisit this decision when we return from Winter Recess in January. Thank you."

I should be having many meetings over Christmas break to plan various options as we head into January... several of which I mentioned today in our G-Force meeting.

Enjoy a safe and relaxing break after you nail your semester finals next week... let’s close out this crazy 2020 year... and be ready to go for a brand new 2021!!!

On October 20, 2020, the SBCUSD Board of Education voted to allow our high school "fall" sports teams for 2020-2021 to Return to Phase 1 - Conditioning Only beginning November 2, 2020.

But everyone must understand that our number one priority is the health and wellness of our athletes, the athlete families, our staff, and our staff's families... so please... FOLLOW THE RULES!!!

At this time, our biggest hurdle looks to be getting all of our athletes cleared for participation as we can not start regardless of the date approved by the Board if the athletes do not get cleared.

Athletes need to submit three items to our SGHS Athletic Dept in order to get cleared.  At this time, we are asking that the items get submitted electronically via email to our athletic secretary at gerelyn.logan@sbcusd.k12.ca.us .  Contact your head coach for the option to turn in hard copies of items if absolutely necessary... but please just email the documents!

I would like to invite all of you to attend the 2019 SGHS Football Awards Night.  This function is slated for Friday January 31st in the MU Room on the San Gorgonio High School campus at 5 pm.  This is a potluck event and will start promptly at 5 and end shortly after 6:30 pm. Our frosh/soph awards are at 3 pm. If you are able to attend please RSVP.  If you are unable to attend let me Thank You for your contributions to our program.

Just a heads up to everyone involved with our program that practice times for today and tomorrow have changed.  Tuesday September 10th practice will be held from 5-7pm with emphasis on gear up and yap after school.  Tomorrow, Wednesday September 11th practice has been pushed back to 6-8 pm due to the Cross country meet that is held on our campus.  Please make the appropriate changes for pickup and drop off.

Your Spartans play vs the Terriers this week at Redlands HS on Aug 29 and Aug 30.  Visitor side entrance is north of stadium on freeway side off of Central.

Due to the projected air quality for the late afternoon and evening time for the next two possibly three days, practice will be moved to 5:45 am for Thursday and Friday possibly Saturday as well. These mandatory practices are countable towards your 1st game eligibility. On field practice will start at 6 am and finish at 7:15 am. Dress is helmets and shoes with loose fitting clothing, no pads. Do not come late as the team will be held accountable. Share this information with others as we do not have everyone on hudl yet. Do not let our issues define who we are or what we can become!

Football will begin the month of June in what is called Dead Period by CIF.  This time is designated for time for student/athletes and families to recharge for the upcoming seasons.  Many of you will not be leaving town and will have time on your hands so CIF allows coaches to have the strength facilities available during this time.  Starting on June 10 th, ours will be open from 4 pm to 6 pm Monday thru Thursday through the month of June.  This is a great time for getting acquainted with new team mates and learning San G protocols in the weight room.   Starting July 1st we will add on field practices to our schedule.  Groups will lift from 4-6 pm Mon thru Thursday and we will practice on field training from 6-8 pm as well.  Our game schedule has been added to this website and more information will be provided as we update information. 

  The Spartan Football program would like to invite all incoming FRESHMEN to be a part of next year’s edition of Spartan football.  Our Varsity group returns 20 seniors from last year’s 5AA State Team but we have a great many opportunities on our Frosh/Soph team this year.

Freshmen will have an introduction meeting on May 13th, 2019 at 5 pm in Phil Haley Stadium.  During this meeting we will discuss in more detail the calendar, fall schedule, spirit pack, athletic clearance, etc.…

Over the last two years the freshman program has won the San Andrea’s league and provides the varsity team with many of its starters on this year’s team.  Come be a part of the San G legacy.
