Wow, where to begin. What a night for the Lady Spartans. Although turning the ball over a number of times the Spartans continued to battle to keep themselves in the game. Their defense was stellar and the Spartans out rebounded their opponents almost 2-1. With a tough defensive mindset the Spartans came from behind in almost every quarter until the final minuets of the game when the Spartans tied it up with a couple of big baskets from both Denise Lewis and Gaby Sandate.

With the game tied and only 1 min and change on the clock the Spartans and the Yellow Jackets battled back and forth. With a huge defensive stop by post players Cenclair Fields and Gaby Sandate the Spartans were able to control the ball with only 40 seconds left. The Spartans offense worked it around and got off a shot trying to take the lead. As it bounced off the rim Cenclair Fields went up and secured the huge offensive rebound allow the Spartans to call a timeout with 24 seconds on the game clock. With full confidence in his team coach Juhnke told the girls to relax, pass the ball around, and to take their time. As they left the bench the last order to point guard Nelly stout was try to get the ball to Gaby at 10 seconds. The Spartans inbounded the ball and worked it around, burning the clock and looking for an open shot. Freshmen guard Oceanana Russell tried to drive the lane and kick the ball out to shooting guard Hallie Dishaw.

As the Yellow Jackets swarmed the pass Oceanana fed the ball back to Nelly. Colton knocked away a shot attempt and Cenclair quickly got the ball back to Nelly with only 7 seconds left. With the entire arena going nuts and both coaching staffs screaming directions at the top of their lungs Nelly tried to feed a pass to Gaby with only 3 seconds left. Gaby immediately got triple teamed as she was the leading scorer of the game up to this point. Gaby turned into the defenders setting a split second screen for Nelly. With 0.2 seconds left on the clock and a defender in her face Nelly squared up to the basket and released the Spartans hopes for win #4. The crowd held their collective breath watching Nelly's high arc float towards the basket and find nothing but the bottom of the net. The San G bench and side of the gym erupted with excitement as the girls on the court all congratulated each other for an exciting win.

This was another great game by the girls, every player made it into the positive stat categories, with some big contributions from the role players. The Spartans once again conducted themselves with the utmost class, again proving themselves worthy of the G-Class motto. They worked together as a team overcoming a lot of missteps and hurdles, but in the end found a way to get a great and well deserved win.
